The New York Times and the rest of the liberal media are once again trying to downplay and obfuscate the significance of the dangerous relationship between William Ayers and Obama. Their most common retort is that Obama was only 8 years old when Ayers and the Weather Underground bombed federal buildings. Though this is true, Ayers never stopped his anti-American activities. In the  2001 interview to with Chicago Magazine where Ayers was photographed standing on the American flag, he said he had no regrets and in a New York Times interview where he said “I Don’t Regret Setting Bombs … I Feel We Didn’t Do Enough.”

The fact is that Ayers’ actions in the 60’s as a terrorist were publicly known when Obama decided to associate with him. Their relationship was not in passing, Obama and Ayers both served as directors of the Woods Fund for a period of 3 years. Obama was a director of the Woods fund from 1994- year end 2001. Several months after the despicable interview of Ayers by the New York Times.

Also in 1995 Ayers founded the Chicago Anneberg Challenge, a $160 million “school reform fund”. Ayers was influencial in the selection of Obama to the CAC board which elevated Obama onto the Chicago political scene.  Then in 1996 Ayers held a meet and great event at his home in Chicago’s Hyde Park(Obama lives there too, thats a scandal for another post, he bought his home and land at a major dicount with the help of convicted felon, Tony Rezko). It was at this meet and greet fundraiser for Obama that State Senator, Alice Palmer introduced Barack Obama as her chosen candidate for the 1996 Democratic primary.
