This is the true story of Thanksgiving that your children will never be taught in school because the Virginia Company Charter was the first true experiment with socialism and it failed miserably. It was not until Governor William Bradford of Plymouth Plantation realized the folly of the commune and redirected the community under capitalism that Plymouth Plantation became successful and the famine ended. You can verify all of the facts in the following transcript from the Rush Limbaugh show in Governor William Bradford’s The History of Plymouth Plantation. Google has digitized the book so it is now available online click here.

Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | November 21, 2006 | Rush Limbaugh

…

Anyway, leads me to the real story of Thanksgiving as written by me in my book “See, I Told You So!” We’re on Chapter Six here: “Dead White Guys or What Your History Books Never Told You,” page 70.

On August 1, 1620, the Mayflower set sail. It carried a total of 102 passengers, including forty Pilgrims led by William Bradford. On the journey, Bradford set up an agreement, a contract, that established just and equal laws for all members of the new community, irrespective of their religious beliefs.

Where did the revolutionary ideas expressed in the Mayflower Compact come from? From the Bible. The Pilgrims were a people completely steeped in the lessons of the Old and New Testaments. They looked to the ancient Israelites for their example. And, because of the biblical precedents set forth in Scripture, they never doubted that their experiment would work.

“But this was no pleasure cruise, friends. The journey to the New World was a long and arduous one. And when the Pilgrims landed in New England in November, they found, according to Bradford’s detailed journal, a cold, barren, desolate wilderness,” destined to become the home of the Kennedy family. “There were no friends to greet them, he wrote. There were no houses to shelter them. There were no inns where they could refresh themselves. And the sacrifice they had made for freedom was just beginning.

During the first winter, half the Pilgrims – including Bradford’s own wife – died of either starvation, sickness or exposure.

“When spring finally came, Indians taught the settlers how to plant corn, fish for cod and skin beavers for coats.” Yes, it was Indians that taught the white man how to skin beasts. “Life improved for the Pilgrims, but they did not yet prosper! This is important to understand because this is where modern American history lessons often end. “Thanksgiving is actually explained in some textbooks as a holiday for which the Pilgrims gave thanks to the Indians for saving their lives, rather than as a devout expression of gratitude grounded in the tradition of both the Old and New Testaments.

Here is the part [of Thanksgiving] that has been omitted: The original contract the Pilgrims had entered into with their merchant-sponsors in London called for everything they produced to go into a common store, and each member of the community was entitled to one common share.

“All of the land they cleared and the houses they built belong to the community as well. They were going to distribute it equally. All of the land they cleared and the houses they built belonged to the community as well. Nobody owned anything. They just had a share in it. It was a commune, folks. It was the forerunner to the communes we saw in the ’60s and ’70s out in California – and it was complete with organic vegetables, by the way.

Bradford, who had become the new governor of the colony, recognized that this form of collectivism was as costly and destructive to the Pilgrims as that first harsh winter, which had taken so many lives.

He decided to take bold action. Bradford assigned a plot of land to each family to work and manage, thus turning loose the power of the marketplace.

“That’s right. Long before Karl Marx was even born, the Pilgrims had discovered and experimented with what could only be described as socialism. And what happened?

It didn’t work! Surprise, surprise, huh?

What Bradford and his community found was that the most creative and industrious people had no incentive to work any harder than anyone else, unless they could utilize the power of personal motivation!

But while most of the rest of the world has been experimenting with socialism for well over a hundred years – trying to refine it, perfect it, and re-invent it – the Pilgrims decided early on to scrap it permanently.

What Bradford wrote about this social experiment should be in every schoolchild’s history lesson. If it were, we might prevent much needless suffering in the future.

“‘The experience that we had in this common course and condition, tried sundry years…that by taking away property, and bringing community into a common wealth, would make them happy and flourishing – as if they were wiser than God,’ Bradford wrote. ‘For this community [so far as it was] was found to breed much confusion and discontent, and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort. For young men that were most able and fit for labor and service did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other men’s wives and children without any recompense…that was thought injustice.’

Why should you work for other people when you can’t work for yourself? What’s the point?

“Do you hear what he was saying, ladies and gentlemen? The Pilgrims found that people could not be expected to do their best work without incentive. So what did Bradford’s community try next? They unharnessed the power of good old free enterprise by invoking the undergirding capitalistic principle of private property.

Every family was assigned its own plot of land to work and permitted to market its own crops and products. And what was the result?

‘This had very good success,’ wrote Bradford, ‘for it made all hands industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been.’

Bradford doesn’t sound like much of a… liberal Democrat, “does he? Is it possible that supply-side economics could have existed before the 1980s? Yes.

“Read the story of Joseph and Pharaoh in Genesis 41. Following Joseph’s suggestion (Gen 41:34), Pharaoh reduced the tax on Egyptians to 20% during the ’seven years of plenty’ and the ‘Earth brought forth in heaps.’ (Gen. 41:47)

In no time, the Pilgrims found they had more food than they could eat themselves…. So they set up trading posts and exchanged goods with the Indians. The profits allowed them to pay off their debts to the merchants in London.

And the success and prosperity of the Plymouth settlement attracted more Europeans and began what came to be known as the ‘Great Puritan Migration.’”

Now, other than on this program every year, have you heard this story before? Is this lesson being taught to your kids today — and if it isn’t, why not? Can you think of a more important lesson one could derive from the pilgrim experience?

So in essence there was, thanks to the Indians, because they taught us how to skin beavers and how to plant corn when we arrived, but the real Thanksgiving was thanking the Lord for guidance and plenty — and once they reformed their system and got rid of the communal bottle and started what was essentially free market capitalism, they produced more than they could possibly consume, and they invited the Indians to dinner, and voila, we got Thanksgiving, and that’s what it was: inviting the Indians to dinner and giving thanks for all the plenty is the true story of Thanksgiving.

The last two-thirds of this story simply are not told.

Now, I was just talking about the plenty of this country and how I’m awed by it. You can go to places where there are famines, and we usually get the story, “Well, look it, there are deserts, well, look it, Africa, I mean there’s no water and nothing but sand and so forth.”

It’s not the answer, folks. Those people don’t have a prayer because they have no incentive. They live under tyrannical dictatorships and governments.

The problem with the world is not too few resources. The problem with the world is an insufficient distribution of capitalism.

Speaking at the recent World Toilet Summit in Macau, World Toilet Organisation founder Jack Sims said the concept of the flushing toilet was unsustainable.

“This ‘flush and forget’ attitude creates a new problem which we have to revisit,” he said.

There have already been calls by Australian experts to reduce the amount of water wasted through toilet flushing with a proposed new toilet tax. “Some people may go as far as not flushing their toilet as often, as the less sewage you produce the less the rate you pay,” Professor Young said.

This is a clear and obvious vote for Al Franken. He has every right to challenge this vote being counted for Norm Coleman. Sure on the surface the intent of this voter to cast his ballot for Norm Colman appears apparent. You may say even more apparent than the petition by Al Franken to count ballots where no senate box was selected as votes for him if the voter voted for Barack Obama. I mean certainly anyone who voted for a no experience Chicago thug politician for president would also vote for a no talent has-been clown for senator but that goes without saying.

Just as in Florida in 2000 to see the real intent of the voter you have to look closer. We have to get in really really really really close and we can see whats going on here. I suggest maybe holding it up to the light and getting out your trusty recount magnifying glass.

Its also imperative that we understand just what kind of voter cast this ballot. Conservatives are intelligent, logical, and hard working. They can handle many tasks at once. They juggle career, family, volunteer, and school responsibilities and still manage to live normal and moral lives. They read directions, follow instructions, are proud of their country, and respect their right and responsibility to vote. A conservative voter would never ever leave a hanging chad or sloppily scribble in a ballot bubble. So we can immediately rule out that this vote was intended for Norm Coleman.

On the other hand, liberals are lazy, they sit and wait for handouts from the government, and occasionally will vote for handouts if the democrat party bus happens to stop by their front porch or university and offer them a free ride, lunch, and cigarettes to ride down to 5 or 10 precincts to vote on election day. Liberals typically are not intelligent, sure many of them point to their free ride bachelors, and doctorates in the liberal arts from so called prestigious universities but we all know that education does not imply intelligence or common sense. These degrees are merely certifications of indoctrination in their liberal ideology and padding for their fragile self worth.

This being said, it is clear that this voter was in fact a liberal. The voter hastily tried to fill out this ballot because the democrat party bus was waiting to take him/her to the next precinct and he didn’t want to miss out on his/her free cigarettes. He/she became confused while filling in his/her true vote for Al Franken. He/she realized too late that the pen had accidentally placed a small dot in Norm Coleman’s bubble. He/she did not dare ask for a new ballot for scrutiny of his/her registration at that precinct may be called in to question. The voter hastily decided to place an X in the Norm Coleman bubble, then realized that may be considered a vote for Norm Coleman in the recounts the Democrat party already planned to call. Quickly he/she decided the best course of action was to write in Al Franken in cursive in the Norm Coleman bubble. Surely one of the thousands of corrupt Democrat planted vote counters would see the true intent if he/she did this. The voter thought, “oh no the bubble is too small, I have to write Franken over top of Al.” So he/she did and felt comfortable that the re-counters would clearly see the loopy thing to the left of the bubble as a cursive A and what was originally the right upper portion of the X clearly as the F in Franken.

Rest assured, Stupid Voter X from Minnesota, you and every American can feel proud today because the American democratic system has worked; the Minnesota re-counters have heard your true intent to vote the no talent clown, Al Franken into the US Senate and bring us ever closer to that 60 vote super majority that stupid liberals like you dream of.

Stupid Voter X from Minnesota should stand proud. You stood up and said we live in the greatest country in the world and we want change. America has heard your screams, protests, and the crackle of the fires from the churches tolerant people like you are burning in California. No longer will Americans be enslaved by the crushing pressures of the life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Instead thanks to you and millions of other useful idiots like yourself we edge ever closer to that mediocre socialist Utopia of equal misery for all that you yearn for in your dreams.

IBM has just finished construction of the worlds fastest super computer, The Jaguar, clocking in at 1.1.05 petaflops and 362 terabytes of memory. Cray Computer has also recently finished a peta scale computer clocking in at 1.059 petaflops. A petaflop is a measure of a computer’s processing speed and can be expressed as a quadrillion or a thousand trillion floating point operations per second. That is 1,000,000,000,000,000 floating point calculations per second.FLOPS are floating-point operations per second. Floating-point is considered to be a method of encoding real numbers within the limits of finite precision available on computers.Using floating-point encoding, extremely long numbers can be handled relatively easily. A floating-point number is expressed as a basic number, an exponent, and a number base which is usually ten but may also be 2.So why is this important. Well it opens up a whole new avenue of geeky and scientific things like more precise climate simulation, folding protein simulation, simulating performance of SCRAMJET engines, and playing a mean game of chess.

Although I have not always been the most outspoken advocate of President-Elect Barack Obama, today I would like to congratulate him and add my voice to the millions of fellow citizens who are celebrating his historic and frightening election victory. I don’t care whether you are a conservative or a liberal — when you saw this inspiring young African-American rise to our nation’s highest office I hope you felt the same sense of patriotic pride that I experienced, no matter how hard you were hyperventilating with deep existential dread.

Yes, I know there are probably other African-Americans much better qualified and prepared for the presidency. Much, much better qualified. Hundreds, easily, if not thousands, and without any troubling ties to radical lunatics and Chicago mobsters. Gary Coleman comes to mind. But let’s not let that distract us from the fact that Mr. Obama’s election represents a profound, positive milestone in our country’s struggle to overcome its long legacy of racial divisions and bigotry. It reminds us of how far we’ve come, and it’s something everyone in our nation should celebrate in whatever little time we now have left.

………………………………………………….It’s obvious that this newfound pride is not confined to Americans alone. All across the world, Mr. Obama’s election has helped mend America’s tattered image as a racist, violent cowboy, willing to retaliate with bombs at the slightest provocation. The huge outpouring of international support following the election shows that America can still win new friendships while rebuilding its old ones, and provides Mr. Obama with unprecedented diplomatic leverage over our remaining enemies. When Russian tanks start pouring into eastern Europe and Iranian missiles begin raining down on Jerusalem, their leaders will know they will be facing a man who not only conquered America’s racial divide but the hearts of the entire Cannes film community. And those Al Qaeda terrorists plotting a dirty nuke or chemical attack on San Francisco face a stark new reality: while they may no longer need to worry about US Marines, they are looking down the barrel of a strongly worded diplomatic condemnation by a Europe fully united in their deep sympathy for surviving Americans.

So for now, let’s put politics aside and celebrate this historic milestone. In his famous speech at the Lincoln Memorial 45 years ago, Dr. King said “I have a dream that one day my children will live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Let us now take pride that Tuesday we Americans proved that neither thing matters anymore.

The AP released a wire story based on the same tired, skewed polling data they have used throughout the election cycle designed to demoralize conservatives and keep them from voting on Tuesday. The article by Alan Fram and Trevor Tomson titled AP poll shows Obama backers gleeful, McCain’s glum is just another attempt in their strategy to depress turnout on the right but why waste their time if this election is in the bag for Obama? The simple answer, it isn’t.

McCain was successful in uniting the republican party with his choice of Sarah Palin as VP and with his decision to include many conservative ideas in his platform. The same is not true of the Democratic party under Obama. Obama created a split in his party by choosing Biden and ignoring the desire of many in his party to have Hillary on the ticket. Obama never asked her. He never even considered her for the position and in doing so he split the party and many in the Hillary camp deffected and created the PUMAs. Hillary Democrats flocked to the McCain camp because in all honesty, John McCain is a very moderate Republican and more closely resembles the Democrat ideas of Hillary Clinton that Obama ever would. They also sympathize with Sarah Palin and her poor treatment by the Obama campaign and the media because they saw that same treatment of Hillary just a few months ago in the heated Democrat primary. The PUMAs have built a vast network of blogs and PACs that have turned up much of the information we have learned about Obama and his connections to Ayers, ACORN, and his past statements on redistribution and socialist ideals. They are experienced with combatting Obama’s Chicago politics from their time working for Hillary Clinton and have been an asset to the McCain campaign in many key swing states. Many estimates have this group of disaffected Democrats being as large as 20-30% of the party and many of them are solidly in the McCain camp and even working on the campaign like the guys( yes Rush they are guys) at HillBuzz.

The media knows this, though they would never report it because a McCain presidency shatters their hopes of self preservation. Under an Obama presidency they can expect to have the restoration of the Fairness Doctrine, which in their minds would beat back the new media enough to counteract the massive loss in circulation we see at every old media source in the nation. The editors at the New York, Times, LA Times, all of them know that their very careers are in jeopardy from new media sources and they see this election as their last home of preserving their jobs through retirement and that is why we continue to hear stories of this so called imminent landslide victory for Obama when the very polls they cite indicate nothing of the sort. They are desperate and they do not understand that conservative turnout will only increase as they attempt to thwart it because conservatives see Obama as the antipithis of the country they want to leave to their children and comments like the following will only serve to solidify conservative turnout this Tuesday.

WASHINGTON – That smiling guy walking down the street? Odds are he’s a Barack Obama backer. The grouchy looking one? Don’t ask, and don’t necessarily count on him to vote next week, either.

Supporters of John McCain, long less enthusiastic than Obama’s, have become increasingly glum about the presidential campaign in recent weeks, according to an Associated Press-Yahoo News poll released Saturday. Their feelings have turned more negative during a period that has seen Obama, the Democratic senator from Illinois, take a firm lead in many polls.

Obama’s backers have retained a higher level of excitement. One expert says the contrasting moods could affect how likely the two candidates’ supporters are to vote on Election Day, possibly dampening McCain’s turnout while boosting Obama’s.

Boo Hoo, I guess I'll take my rain cloud and go home

The fact is that conservatives will vote on Tuesday, in numbers never before seen in a presidential election and conservatives along side millions of disaffected Democrats for Hillary will send Obama, his thug politics, and fawning media back to the gutters of Chicago where they belong.
